Management team strengthened with addition of 25 year Amdahl/Fujitsu veteran

SUNNYVALE, Calif, May 6th, 2004- Platform Solutions, Inc. (PSI), a Plug Compatible Manufacture (PCM) of mainframe systems based on Intel® technology today announced that Gregory Handschuh has been appointed as Vice President and Corporate Counsel. Gregory will have responsibility for legal affairs including general legal activities, managing PSI's patent applications and protection, licensing, and protecting intellectual property rights.

Gregory brings to PSI over 30 years of legal experience in industry and government through his positions with Fujitsu, Amdahl, and the Federal Trade Commission. "PSI is very pleased to have someone of Gregory's caliber join the team," said Michael Maulick, President and CEO, of PSI. "His in depth understanding of the mainframe market, experience in patent protection, and strong customer focus will help drive adoption of PSI's innovative technology that bridges mainframes to open system environments."

Biography

Gregory Handschuh
Prior to joining PSI, Gregory was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Fujitsu IT Holdings, Inc., formerly known as Amdahl Corporation. Amdahl, formerly a publicly traded company before its acquisition by Fujitsu Limited in 1997, was founded as a developer and manufacturer of large scale IBM compatible mainframes. In his capacity as General Counsel, Greg was responsible, among other things, for ensuring Amdahl's continued ability to compete with IBM and as a consequence played an active role in pursuing competition law issues involving IBM before the European Commission. He was also a public policy advocate for matters dealing with intellectual property and competition law in both the US and Europe. This included Congressional committee testimony on bills affecting intellectual property and antitrust enforcement.

In addition, Gregory has extensive international experience with hardware and software products distribution and marketing. His prior roles also included global administrative management and active involvement in Amdahl/Fujitsu's mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Prior to joining Amdahl, Gregory was a trial attorney with the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Competition in Washington, D.C. In addition to his legal background Gregory has held a number of computer related technical and managerial positions with companies such as Control Data Corporation, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Western Electric Company.

Gregory holds a J.D. degree from St. John's University in New York where he was editor for the Law Review. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Detroit.
